What is hand gestures?

Hand gesture is a part of none verbal communication

Using your hands to emphasize and structure when you talk.

Hand gesture can help you to describe what you are talking about

When you talk about drawing a circle you can motion a circle with your hands.

Hand gesture give clues about about your emotional state.

Why is hand gesture are important ?

In communication you have many tools to use that make communication effective.

And hand is one of them.

Listeners engagement level increase many times when you use your hands also(i am not promoting violence here ).

How to use hand gesture?

When you take a lot of space and make big gesture you will perceived as more confident

You should be stay “in box” of hand gesturing (the box=from shoulder to thighs) anotherwise it becomes distracting.

Genral position of your hand reveal alot of information about you.

“open hands” whenever you expose your palm .it shows you are not hiding anything.

Turning up your palm means you are making a request.

In another way turning palm down and it comes off more like “giving an order”.

When you hold your hand close to your heart.it also mean that you are being sincere and the thing you are speaking or listing are close to your heart.
